Ireland Removals Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is published by Ireland Removals in accordance with our commitment to uphold human rights, fair working conditions, and ethical business practices across all our operations and supply chains. It sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour in connection with our services.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Ireland Removals has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery in all its forms. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. We expect the same standards from everyone we work with, including employees, agency workers, contractors, suppliers, and other business partners.
No form of forced, bonded, or involuntary labour is acceptable within our business or supply chains. We do not tolerate human trafficking, debt bondage, servitude, or the exploitation of vulnerable persons. Any suspected breach of this policy is treated as a serious matter and may result in termination of contracts or other appropriate action.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Ireland Removals provides professional removal, relocation, and associated services. Our supply chains include providers of vehicles, fuel, packing materials, storage facilities, equipment, subcontracted labour, and various professional and support services. We recognise that risks related to modern slavery can exist at multiple levels within these supply chains, particularly where labour is low-skilled, outsourced, or sourced through third parties.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We aim to work only with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to ethical labour practices. Our supplier expectations include compliance with all applicable labour and employment laws, prohibition of forced or compulsory labour, fair wages and working hours, safe working conditions, and respect for the rights and dignity of workers.
We conduct risk-based due diligence on key suppliers, with enhanced checks where there is a higher risk of labour exploitation. This may include requesting evidence of labour standards policies, reviewing supplier documentation, and holding discussions regarding working conditions and recruitment practices. Where appropriate, we carry out audits of selected suppliers to verify compliance with our requirements and to identify any areas for improvement.
If a supplier is found to be in breach of our standards relating to modern slavery, we will work with them to develop corrective action plans within agreed timeframes. Persistent non-compliance or unwillingness to remedy issues may result in suspension or termination of the commercial relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Protection of Whistleblowers
Ireland Removals encourages all employees, workers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to raise concerns about suspected modern slavery or unethical labour practices connected with our operations or supply chains. Concerns may include indications of forced labour, human trafficking, unfair recruitment fees, document retention, or unsafe and exploitative working conditions.
Reports can be made through established internal reporting channels or directly to management. We will treat all concerns seriously and take appropriate action to investigate. We are committed to protecting any person who raises a concern in good faith from retaliation, victimisation, or any adverse treatment as a result of speaking up.
Training and Awareness
We seek to build awareness of modern slavery risks among our employees, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management, and operational supervision. Training and guidance focus on recognising indicators of exploitation, understanding our policies, and knowing how to escalate concerns appropriately.
Monitoring, Governance, and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing this Modern Slavery Statement and related practices rests with the senior management of Ireland Removals. We monitor the effectiveness of our approach by reviewing supplier assessments, reported concerns, and outcomes of any investigations or audits.
This statement is reviewed at least annually to ensure that it remains accurate, effective, and aligned with evolving legal requirements and best practice. As part of this review, we consider changes in our business, feedback from stakeholders, audit findings, and developments in guidance on tackling modern slavery.
By continuing to strengthen our systems, processes, and relationships, Ireland Removals is committed to playing its part in preventing modern slavery and promoting fair and respectful treatment for all workers connected with our services.
