Things You Need For Your Moving Day

Are you moving house and want to know what you need to put on your shopping list? Moving gives you a lot of things to think and worry about, but if you’re as prepared as possible then you can move easily and swiftly without needing to panic. If you don’t know what you might need for your house move then here’s a list that can help you!1)    Moving boxes. You’re going to need a lot of moving boxes for your house move, but these can be sourced very easily. Just ask around your local shops and supermarkets to see if they can supply you with any. Make sure to check for signs of wear and tear, as you don’t want your boxes to split open when you move! Reinforce all of your boxes with packing tape to ensure that they’re as strong as possible. It’s also worth looking at the text on the box to see what the weight of the product it originally contained was – this will give you an idea of how much weight the box can hold before breaking! You should also look around your home and garage to see if you’ve saved any of the original boxes for your appliances or electrical goods. These boxes have been created to hold the items you own, making them a great and safe choice for your move. 2)    Packing supplies. From bubble wrap to foam packing peanuts, you’re probably going to need a lot of packing materials and supplies for your move. If you have a tight budget then try using bedding and towels or wrap up your fragile items, or use newspapers and magazines instead. Your fragile items should be wrapped individually to prevent them from smashing in transit. 3)    Hiring a removal company. Many people choose to hire professional removal services or removal companies for their move. This is a great way to save time, get help with moving heavier items, and to get a moving van that’s perfect for the job. Ask your friends and family for recommendations to find a tried-and-tested company, or, if you’re looking online, make sure to read as many customer reviews as possible to ensure you’re hiring a reliable company.4)    Moving your kitchen appliances. If you have a fridge, freezer, washing machine or tumble dryer to move then you might want to hire a dolly to help with the process. Dollies can be hired from your local removal company, and will make moving these large and heavy appliances quick, easy and safe. Speak to your local moving companies to find out what deal you can get.5)    Your essentials bag. There are lots of things that you might need easy access to on moving day, especially if you have children! Make a list of everything that you might need when you move – moving paperwork, purse or wallet, phone charger, keys and other such essentials should be in there. If you are moving with children then it’s a good idea to include a few snacks, drinks and toys, along with any medication that you might need. Another great tip is to pack a house essentials bag, filled with things that should be in your home straight away. This might include toilet paper, towels, hygiene products and enough cutlery and cookware to last you for an evening or two.
