Being a Good Neighbor

One of the things many people fail to realize after the movers have deposited their boxes and packages at the new home, and they've arranged everything and the house is orderly - is to meet and get to know their neighbors. It is important to start your new life at your new home on the right foot, and part of that is getting to know your neighbors. Doing this will help you get a better understanding of them which will help you live a much pleasanter life around them.

One of the ways you can do this is to drop by and introduce yourself quickly. Some people will have time to talk, and some will be busy, so unless you're invited to talk and socialize longer, keep things short and sweet. It helps if you have a small token - usually food - that you can offer to your new neighbors. This will help them warm up to you better, and most decent folk will appreciate the gesture of you not only respecting the people who live near you and have stayed in the place longer than you, but also because of your small gift to them.

Remember, small gestures such as these go a long way. Also try to practice being more considerate and understanding of others so they will return the favor and do the same for you.
